Why should I protect my mobile device?

More and more people rely on their mobile devices for communication, entertainment or to stay connected with the world. These devices, including smartphones and tablets among other mobile electronic equipment, are at risk of mechanical or electrical breakdown, accidental damage, loss or theft. With our Mobile Protection Plan you will have peace of mind knowing that in the event that something happens to your device, you will soon be reconnected. An easy claims process will get you a replacement quickly without having to incur the high costs associated with getting a new mobile device.

What is covered by the Mobile Device Protection Plan?

This plan protects your mobile device from a wide variety of perils including mechanical or electrical breakdown, accidental damage (including liquid damage) loss and theft. Coverage for mechanical and electrical breakdown starts the moment the manufacturer’s warranty expires. If your unit is affected by one of the perils covered, you unit will be replaced so you can stay connected.

How many claims can I submit?

The Mobile Protection Plan allows you to claim up to two (2) times in a period of 12 consecutive months.

Is there a deductible?

All approved claims require the payment of a deductible to receive your new equipment. For details on the deductible that applies to your plan and your device, contact your mobile service provider.

What should I do to file a claim?

To file a claim, you can access the claims section to obtain the contact information for the claims center for your mobile service provider. During the call we’ll ask you some questions to understand the damage and claim type. If according to your plan your claim is approved, you will receive an authorization number. With this number you can obtain a replacement unit at any location authorized by your mobile service provider.

What information is needed to file a claim?

When you call us to file your claim you will need to provide your policy contract number (usually the same as your phone number), the full name of the policy holder and a brief description of the incident and the resulting damages. If your claim is due to loss or theft you should also provide the police report number.

If your mobile device gets lost or stolen, report it immediately to your mobile service provider to avoid any unauthorized use of your phone. Also, make sure to get your police report number. This number is required to process your claim.

How do I get a replacement unit?

Once you receive the authorization number for your claim, you can pick up your replacement at any location authorized by your mobile service provider.

Will the replacement unit be identical to my original device?

Once your claim is authorized your device will be replaced with a reconditioned unit of like type and quality. If a reconditioned device is not available, the replacement will be made with a new device of like type and quality.
